TAMPA, Fla. (September 9, 2014) – As a result of its ongoing commitment, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa will once again be recognized by the City of Tampa for its month-long efforts via a Proclamation issued by Mayor Bob Buckhorn naming October PINKTOBER® month.

In support of Hard Rock International’s annual breast cancer awareness campaign, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa will return as the $50,000 premier sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Tampa on Saturday, October 18.

To kick off PINKTOBER® month, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa is throwing a #MakeItPink kickoff party in Hard Rock Cafe on Friday, October 3. The room will be decorated pink with pink lighting and there will be a PINKTOBER® “Step & Repeat” along with PINKTOBER® marketing material. Property team members will be wearing pink for the evening.

Additionally, a “Pink-tini” cocktail will be offered during the party with a portion of the proceeds donated to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the band, Mek, will also perform from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with free cover. Two pink guitars will be given to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer as raffle items and guests who make a $50 donation will be given a limited edition Seminole Hard Rock pin. Guests who make a donation of any amount will be given Pink Seminole Hard Rock sunglasses.

Throughout October, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa will participate in Hard Rock’s “Get into Bed for the Cause” program which will offer guests luxurious pink sheets, pink duvet covers, pink robes, an iconic Hard Rock PINKTOBER® pin and a signature turndown service. When guests stay in PINK sheets rooms, 25 percent of the room rate goes directly to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®.

The Hard Rock retail store will also feature pink items on sale and the bars will sell the signature “Pink-tini” items to also benefit charity.

Last year, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa raised nearly $90,000 during its PINKTOBER® program to help fund research for prevention and a cure for breast cancer. A major component of the program was the title sponsorship of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, which included a property team totaling 258 people.
