TAMPA, Fla.  (May 3, 2016) – In honor of “Give Day Tampa Bay,” Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa announced it will be supporting the charity Voices for Children during the month of May.

“Give Day Tampa Bay” is a 24-hour, online giving event, designed to increase philanthropy in the Tampa Bay area and raise awareness of the amazing work local nonprofits do in the community.

As connected to Voices for Children, the property will be selling customized limited edition earbuds in its retail shops for $10 with 100 percent of the proceeds generated going to the organization.

To further support the charity, the property will host a Voices for Children benefit event on Friday, May 27. Open to the public, the event will feature a charity slot tournament (beginning at 4 p.m.), as well as a red carpet ceremony (6 p.m.), benefit concert featuring Ben Torres (7 p.m.) and check presentation of funds raised for the month (8 p.m.) in Hard Rock Cafe.

The slot tournament has an entry fee of $10 and 50 percent of those proceeds will be donated to the charity and 50 percent to the prize pool. Tickets can be purchased at the Rock Shop or upon entry of the event.

About Voices for Children
Voices for Children was founded in 1986 as the Child Advocacy Guild, Inc. The original stated purpose of the organization was to initiate fundraising events & methods and to direct those funds to appropriate activities of the Guardian ad Litem Program; to promote awareness of the activities of the program and to encourage volunteer resources; and to encourage community activity and awareness.

Voices for Children (VFC) started with a need. The State of Florida requires that the interests of every abused and neglected child be represented by a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) in court. While the benefits of this are immeasurable to the child, there aren’t enough Guardian Advocates for all of Hillsborough County’s abused and neglected children. The GAL program doesn’t receive adequate public funding. That’s where VOICES helps.

Voices for Children is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide the volunteer Guardians the financial means necessary for Guardian ad Litem to continue this vital service to children. Currently, the program can serve only about 67% of these children. Our goal is to provide 100% representation for the abused, neglected and abandoned children of Hillsborough County.
