TAMPA, Fla.  (July 13, 2016) – For the second time in five years, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa has received the prestigious S.A.V.E. Award (Sheriff’s Alcohol Vendor Enforcement) from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The award was presented to the property for their continued efforts in being a responsible vendor on the consumption of alcohol. The Sheriff’s Office singled out the property’s effort to train more than 455 of its staff and personnel about the dangers of over serving patrons.

Given an average of 25,000 patrons entering Seminole Hard Rock Tampa on a daily basis, the Sheriff’s Office noted there was a 10 percent reduction in DUI arrests throughout 2015, with zero arrests made in April of 2015.

In June of 2006, Sheriff David Gee launched the S.A.V.E. Program to partner with alcohol vendors and retailers and to create a proactive collaboration to inform and educate employees and managers. The goal is to reduce alcohol-related traffic crashes and deaths in Hillsborough County.

Many alcohol vendors in Hillsborough County have embraced S.A.V.E. and invited the Sheriff’s Office to conduct training sessions for employees and undercover operations to reveal underage drinkers as well as counterfeit and fake forms of identification.
