TAMPA, Fla. (October 2, 2015) – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa will introduce the “John Daly Cocktail” to its guests during an event on Tuesday, October 6, at the Pool Bar.

The open-to-the-public event will start at 5 p.m. and feature the mixed drink (consisting of sweet tea/lemonade and vodka) made famous by professional golfer John Daly, who will be available for photo opportunities along with the Hard Rock Girls.

In 1994, Daly began introducing his drink to bartenders on the West Coast. After noticing it years later on menu after menu, he considered trademarking his name. Shortly thereafter, the John Daly Cocktail arrived as did the Grip It and Sip It (GIASI) beverage company.

Bottled by Frank-Lin Distiller’s in Fairfield, Calif., the official “Original John Daly Cocktail” came to market in 2013. Initial reach in California and Nevada has swept to 13 states including Daly’s home state of Arkansas. GIASI offers three different flavors of the “Ready to Drink” cocktail.

Daly, who turned pro in 1987, is best known for his driving distance off the tee. In 1997, he became the first PGA Tour player to average more than 300 yards per drive over a full season.
His accomplishments include a victory at the 1991 PGA Championship and a playoff victory in the 1995 Open Championship.
